Abstract

Section 3 is amended as regards powers of Island Council as regards permitting cultivation of pearls. paragraph 2 of section 2 now reads: "(2) Any permit issued pursuant to (1) may be granted subject to such terms and conditions as an island council may deem necessary including terms or conditions as to: (a) fees to be paid by a permit holder; (b) the area of a lagoon for which a permit is valid; (c) the period of time for which a permit is valid; (d) the quantity of pearl or pearl-shell that may be dealt with, which quantity may be expressed in terms of weight or value; (e) the minimum size of pearl-shell; (f) inspection and confiscation; (g) cancellation of permits."
