The Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks appointed under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Trade Marks Act, 1999 (47 of 1999), shall be the Controller of Patents for the purposes of this Act. There shall be an office which shall be known as the patent office. The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify the name of the Patent Office. The Act further makes provisions, inter alia, for: applications for Patents, publication and examination of applications, opposition proceedings to grant of patents, secrecy of certain inventions, grant of patents and rights conferred thereby, register of patents, penalties, etc. Full text English Website ipindia.gov.in
