Abstract The Law regulates property and related private non-property issues arising in connection with the creation, legal protection and use of inventions, industrial patterns and useful models (art. 1). Legal protection of invention, useful model and industrial pattern shall be protected by the state and certified by a patent (art. 4). The objects of invention are: 1) devices; 2) processes; 3) substances; 4) micro-organic strains; 5) cell cultures of plants and animals; 6) the use of a known device, process, substance, and strain in a new application (art. 5). Not recognized to be patentable are inventions of varieties of plants and breeds of animals (art. 6).The Act consists of 8 Sections composed of 38 articles.
