Abstract This Act, consisting of 25 sections divided into five Chapters and completed by two Schedules, creates the Veterinary Medical Council in Pakistan. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Council, as a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal with powers to acquire, hold and dispose of property and enter into contract and shall by its name sue or be-sued. The Executive Committee shall appoint inspectors to attend at any or all of the examinations held by veterinary institution in Pakistan for the purpose of granting recognized qualifications and to look into research project and technical facilities available at any veterinary institution in Pakistan for evaluating any shortfalls. The Council shall maintain in the prescribed manner a register in which shall be entered the names and other particulars of person possessing recognized veterinary qualifications whose applications for registration as veterinarian are from time to time granted by the Council.
