Section 1 establishes that no person shall directly or indirectly cause to be released to the atmosphere a regulated substance from: a) air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, or parts thereof; b) fire extinguishing equipment for purposes other than to extinguish a fire in an emergency circumstance; or c) containers used in the supply, recovering, recycling, reclamation, transport or storage of the regulated substance. The text – consisting of 18 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following matters: interpretation, release of regulated substances, servicing requirements, sale requirements and violations.
