Abstract The Ordinance lays down rules concerning the placing on the market and export of certain species of fish and fish products originating in the Baltic Sea region. Species are: Salmo salar, Clupea harengus (measuring min. 17 cm.), Salvelinus, Lampetra fluviatilis, and Salmo trutta. The Ordinance applies to the waters of ICES statistical subdivisions 24-32 (BAL 24-BAL 32) as described in Annex III of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No. 218/2009 of 11 March 2009 on the submission of statistics on nominal catches by Member States fishing in the Northwest Atlantic eastern part. It is permissible to trade fish species and products in this Ordinance originating in the Baltic region and intended for consumption in Sweden - containing higher levels of dioxins or dioxin-like PCBs and non-dioxin-like PCBs.
