Abstract The purpose of the present Ordinance is the correct and efficient enforcement of the federal water protection legislation in the sphere of groundwater, as well as the cantonal legislation on the same subject. Article 3 establishes that water supply has to be of high quality and in sufficient quantity and under appropriate pressure. Furthermore, the water supply and groundwater management shall be safe, practical, economical and environmentally friendly.
