Abstract The present Ordinance establishes the National Park “Bayerischer Wald”. The aim of the Park is to conserve a characteristic European landscape with its native animal and plant environment and their natural ecosystems, to guarantee the undisturbed development of the various symbioses, as well as to make it possible for weakened plants and animals to prosper again. The text deals with the following matters: general planning, delimitation of areas, structural plans of countryside, aims of the parks, education and recreation, scientific studies and promoting measures for its conservation.
