Article 1 establishes that, according to EU regulations, only certain substances are to be used for the production of brandy. Then the Ordinance deals specifically with the production of German brandy. Unless the product has been in wooden casks for at least 12 months, the label can not bear the indication of the age. Article 4 deals with the requirements to obtain a registration number, and article 5 with the control of products. The minimun alcohol content is indicated in article 6.
