Abstract This Government Ordinance, which is composed of 16 articles and two Annexes, establishes sensitive areas and vulnerable areas on the territory of the Slovak Republic. Sensitive areas are water bodies which occur or may occur as a result of increased concentration of nutrients or which are used as water resources or which require a higher degree of cleaning of discharged waste. Vulnerable areas are agricultural lands from which water flows into surface waters or into groundwater with the high concentration of nitrate.
