Abstract

The Ordinance contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed. Once the disease is ascertained in a certain place, all animals (pigs) are to be destroyed under official supervision. Plants have to be disinfected and cleaned according to EU guidelines. Around an affected area a radius of at least 3 km has to be declared as protected zone. Slaughterhouses within the area have to be surveyed closely.
