Abstract

The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to damage inflicted on fisheries by cormorants. In particular, article 1 establishes that – contrary to article 42 of the Federal Nature Protection Act - cormorants may be killed if they present a serious danger to fisheries; however, they shall not be killed in national parks, nature protected areas and in breeding and sleeping places. Article 2 establishes that in order to shoot cormorants a valid hunting licence is required. The text consists of 4 articles.
