The present Ordinance enters into force on 1 July 1997.
Abstract

The present Ordinance is made under the Law of 2 May 1971 on protection of nature and cultural heritage and the Ordinance of 2 October 1991 on protection of nature and cultural heritage. Article 1 establishes that the Canton and municipalities are responsible for the protection of wild flora and wild fauna and for the conservation of their habitats. Article 2 lists protected plant varieties. The text - consisting of 13 articles – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: purpose, protected plant varieties, partly protected plant varieties, protected plant areas, protected animals, conservation of habitats, river-side vegetation, exemption permit, survey.
