Abstract

An Ordinance by the Federal Minister for Health, Sport and Consumer Protection to ensure the quality of frozen food. It contains at the outset a definition clause relating to the various terms therein employed. Moreover, it prescribes that the foodstuffs to be frozen has to be of first quality while the freezing process has to be realized with adequate equipment (for example, the temperature has to be maintained throughout at minus 18 degrees). Processed food has to be packed in such a way as to be bacteria-free; also, it must be marked as frozen, deep frozen, etc. and show the expiry date. The Ordinance consists of 7 articles.
