Abstract

This Ordinance defines goals, objectives, quality control and seed certification procedures. Quality control and certification of seeds shall be carried out with regard to seeds of plant varieties, which in accordance with this Regulation are produced, processed, selected, packaged and labelled, as well as provided for sale or use in the Republic of Tajikistan or export to other countries. The list of plant species, certification of which on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan is considered mandatory, is contained in Annex 2. The list of plant species, certification of which seedlings (planting material) in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan is considered mandatory, is contained in Annex 2a. Quality control and seed certification shall be conducted with indicators that certify varietal and sowing qualities in accordance with acting regulations and state standards. The authorized state institution shall perform the following tasks: (a) establishment and improvement of the procedures for quality control and certification of seeds; (b) improvement of seed certification structure and planning; (c) cooperation with domestic and international bodies on quality control and seed certification issues; (d) cooperation with authorized bodies on quality control and certification of seeds of other countries; (e) registration of issued certificates; (f) examination of complaints and applications; (g) organization and conduct of test control over the process of quality control and certification of seeds; (h) publication of information about the quality control process and seed certification; and (i) other activities that contribute to quality control and certification process of seeds.
