Abstract The present Ordinance implements the Cantonal Law on waters of 25 November 1999. Article 1 establishes the competences for waters in the Canton of Zug. The Cantonal Forest Office is in charge of private waters in forests; the Civil Engineering Office is in charge of public waters; the Cantonal Environment Office is in charge of water abstraction on a regular basis, as well as temporary use of public waters, and also of any use of private waters, of the protection of groundwater, of water from hazardous substances, of the construction and modification of buildings and installations, etc. The text consists of 8 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Proceedings (2); Limitation of use (3); Financial contribution of local authorities (4); Final provisions (5).
