The present Ordinance enters into force on 1 July 1997.
Abstract

The purpose of the present Ordinance is the correct and efficient enforcement of the federal legislation on food and articles of daily use. Article 1 establishes that the Sanitary Office is responsible for the execution of federal legislation in the field of foodstuff, articles of daily use, agriculture and radiation protection. The text consists of 14articles divided into5 Parts as follows: Organization (1); Competence and coordination (2); Slaughtering, Inspection of slaughter animals and meat (3); Enforcement provisions (4); Final provisions (5).
