No. 22/1997). In particular, the Ordinance establishes the Biosphere Park “Nature Park Nagelfluhkette”. The purpose of the establishment of the Biosphere Park "Nature Park Nagelfluhkette" is to 1) preserve sustainably the nature and the landscape in the municipalities listed in article 1 in their high quality and to use it as an important basis for economic, social and cultural development; 2) preserve the ecologically valuable habitats and the typical and especially endangered plant and animal species in the Biosphere Reserve. Of particular importance are the moors and wetlands, the lean and dry grasslands, canyons and ravines as well as natural forests; 3) promote a high-quality and sustainable tourism with high regional value and the use of regional products. The special features of the natural and cultural landscape shall be in the foreground as essential quality. Sustainable use of regional resources shall be facilitated and promoted; 4) further develop sustainably the common recreational area with its special features and the existing offers for guests and locals ; 5) preserve the cultural landscape with its diverse habitats of animals and plants, testimonies of old rural culture and typical landscape shall be preserved through a sustainable agriculture and forestry.
