Entry into force notes
The present Ordinance enters into force on 20 August 1983.
Abstract

The present Ordinance implements the federal legislation on animal protection. In particular, article 1 establishes that the governing Council is entrusted with the enforcement of animal protection. The Interior and Economy Office is the competent authority in the Canton. The text consists of 24 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: Organization (I); Animal stock inspection (II); Animal experiments (III); Legal protection (IV); Transitional and final provisions (V).
