Abstract In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection 36(1) of the Animals Ordinance 1953, this Order makes provision in order to control and eradicate the disease of viral encephalitis which exists in animals in the State of Perak. To this end, the State of Perak is declared to be a viral encaphalitis infected area, a viral encephalitis control area and a viral encephalitis eradication area. The following acts and activities are prohibited: (a) removal of any animal or carcase to or from the State of Perak or between any place in the State of Perak; (b) slaughtering of any animal; (c) sale or keeping of any carcase; (d) sale, keeping or rearing of any animal. Moreover, in case of infection (or suspected infection), the animals concerned shall be killed and the premises or structures shall be closed or destroyed. Full text English
