Abstract

This Order aims at restricting the fishing for salmon in the territorial waters and Fisheries Zone of Finland and parts of the Simo river (sect. 1). Fishing with driftnets is forbidden in the Baltic and large parts of the Gulf of Bothnia (sect. 2). Section 3 specifies areas where fishing with purse nets with a specified mesh size or fishing with nets other gear used for salmon fishing is forbidden. Section 4 restricts the use of gear for salmon fishing within a specified area of the sea outside the river mouth of the Simojoki and section 5 prescribes a close season for fishing in parts of the river.
