Abstract

This Order determines the implementation of special surveillance to determine the presence of the bacterium Clavibacter michiganensis (Smith) Davis et al. ssp. sepedonicus (Spieckermann et Kotthoff) Davis et al. causative agent of tuber ring rot and potato wilt, determination of prevalence and, in case of occurrence, the measures to be taken to prevent the spread and control, with the aim of eradicating tuber ring rot and potato wilt, as well as the procedures for laboratory testing. The measures taken to destroy the bacterium Clavibacter michiganensis (Smith) Davis et al. ssp. sepedonicus (Spieckermann et Kotthoff) Davis et al. which causes tuber ring rot and potato wilt, are all made in order to: (a) locate and determine its prevalence and distribution; (b) prevent its occurrence and spread and (c) if found, prevent its spread and control it for complete elimination.
