This standard prescribes phytosanitary measures that reduce the risk of introduction and spread of quarantine pests associated with the movement in international trade of wood packaging, which is made from raw wood. Wood packaging material covered by this standard includes packaging, but excludes wood packaging material that is made from treated wood in a manner in which harmful organisms have been removed. The phytosanitary measures described in this standard are not intended to provide permanent protection against infectious pests and other organisms.
