Abstract

This Order determines the manner for implementation of international standard for guidelines for export, transport, import and release of biological control agents and other beneficial organisms no. 3-given in the Annex of this text. This standard prescribes guidelines for risk management during export, transport, import and release of biological control agents and other beneficial organisms. It also covers the responsibilities of the contracting parties of the National Plant Protection Organization or other responsible competent authorities, importers and exporters (as prescribed in the standard). The standard applies to self-propagating biological control agents (parasitoids, predators, parasites, nematodes, phytophagous organisms and pathogens: fungi, bacteria and viruses), sterile insects and other beneficial organisms (genus: Tusogitgae and pollinators), including packaged or commercially formulated products. The provisions also cover importation for research in quarantine facilities of non-native biological control agents and other beneficial organisms.
