Abstract

Foreign fishing vessels may operate in the Zone if this is foreseen by an international agreement with the state whose flag the foreign vessel is flying (art. 2.1). Only cod, herring and sprat may be fished (art. 2.2.). Article 3 prohibits fishing by foreign vessels in the Polish fishery zone if accompanied by mother-ships or connecting vessels. Article 5 obliges foreign vessels to keep fishing log-books. Article 6 provides for licences. Vessels entering or leaving the zone shall notify the appropriate maritime office (sect. 7). Other provisions regulate, inter alia, mesh-size, size of fish, total allowable catch, and offences. (15 sections)
