Abstract

These Veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) requirements for the goods subject to veterinary control (supervision) are aimed at ensuring protection of the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan against import and spread of pathogens of infectious diseases of animals, including common for animals and humans, and commodities that do not meet veterinary requirements. They shall be applicable to pedigree cattle (including semen and embryos), including species destined for slaughtering, pedigree sheep and goats, (including semen and embryos), including species destined for slaughtering, pedigree horses (including sperm of pedigree stallions), poultry, live fish and spawn, aquatic animals, crustaceans, molluscs, invertebrates, wild fauna species, game and meat. Import of controlled goods into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall be performed in the presence of an import permit issued by the Main State Administration of Veterinary Medicine under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Import of controlled goods into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan from third countries shall be performed in the presence of a veterinary certificate issued by the competent authority of the country of departure, unless otherwise provided by these requirements. Animals imported into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan must be identified individually or in groups. Unidentified animals may be imported for keeping at home, collections, zoological gardens, and circuses, for use as experimental animals. Productive animals imported from third countries should not receive feed containing components from ruminants, except those components that are allowed to be used by the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code. Animals imported from third countries must be quarantined for at least 21 days in the sender’s and recipient's country, unless otherwise required by veterinary requirements for a particular animal species. The need, duration and conditions of quarantine are determined by the Main State Veterinary Administration under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Drugs, diagnostic systems, means for antiparasitic treatments and fodder additives for animals entered in the Register of registered medicinal products, diagnostic systems, and means for antiparasitic treatments and fodder additives for animals may be imported into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
