This Order enters into force on 27 July 2012.
Abstract

This Order validates “Veterinary and sanitary requirements for import of animals, foodstuffs of animal origin, feed, and feed additives”. Livestock imported to the Republic of Armenia must be identified individually or in groups. Imported foodstuffs of animal origin must not have been treated with natural or artificial estrogen, hormonal therapeutic preparations (drugs), except as preventive or therapeutic measures. Imported livestock shall be put in quarantine in the exporting country no less than 21 days prior to shipping and subsequently put in quarantine in the importing country. In case of detection of infectious animal disease during quarantine in the importing country the competent authority of the importing country must be promptly notified. It is prohibited to feed livestock with feedstuffs containing proteins of the ruminants. Stockbreeding farms exporting livestock must be free of infectious animal diseases. The animals transported through the territory of the Republic of Armenia shall be kept for no less than 21 days in quarantine, during which animal thermometry and diagnostic tests are performed for brucellosis and tuberculosis. Animals must be slaughtered no later than 72 hours after arriving at slaughterhouse. For import to the territory of the Republic of Armenia shall be authorized live fish intended for consumption, invertebrates, aquatic animals, conjugated caviar and poikilothermic species caught in natural waterbodies in the last 24 months and free of animal diseases.
