The Regulation shall not apply to economic entities using in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts genetically modified organisms, to odors, noise, vibration and radiological monitoring. The types of environmental monitoring of economic entities shall be classified as follows: (a) monitoring of technological processes of economic entities; (b) monitoring of emissions/discharges of pollution sources from economic entities; and (c) monitoring of the impact of economic entities on the quality of the environment. The purpose of monitoring of technological processes of economic entities is measuring of parameters of ongoing technological processes related to emissions/discharges, energy consumption and waste generation, to monitor and assess whether the operator is not deviating from the technological regime and therefore does not cause more than the permissible pollution of the environment. Part of the environmental monitoring plan of economic operators shall be drainage water and soil monitoring, prepared in accordance with the Environmental requirements for handling manure.
