Abstract

The scope of this Regulation shall be to provide a uniform method for establishing a centralized solid waste disposal site, operating and partial and full closure thereof. Establishment of centralized waste collection site shall be planned and location thereof shall be determined with the consideration of geographic position, population density, volume of waste generated, landscape, engineering geologic estimate and hydrogeological conditions in the area. Centralized waste collection site shall be located at a distance no less than 5 km from capital city, no less than 3 km from centralized municipality and no less than 5 km from river basins, forests and objects of historical and cultural heritage. Prior to establishment of centralized waste collection site shall be performed mandatory environmental impact assessment and feasibility study. A disaster risk reduction plan shall be developed. Waste collection, transportation and disposal shall be performed on a regular basis. Disposed waste shall be recorded and reported to the competent authority.
