Abstract

This Methodology establishes the procedure for calculating the normal depreciation during short-term storage of potatoes and vegetables in cellars and warehouses for up to 20 days and buying and selling them in grocery stores, shopping centers, and food markets. Normal losses during short-term storage of potatoes and vegetables are calculated for four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter). If sales are made in a shopping center with a refrigerated counter, the normal depreciation rate should be compared to the rate of a refrigerated warehouse or cellar. If the sale is made in the open area or at the open stall of a food market, when choosing the normal depreciation rate, must be considered consider the rate of non-refrigerated storage and cellar. The Methodology contains the calculation formula for weight losses.
