Abstract

This Regulation for the formation, storage, accounting and use of botanical collections, collections of plant genetic resources and determines the procedure for the formation, storage, accounting and use of botanical collections, collections of plant genetic resources. Botanical collections include: living collections of plants in botanical gardens, dendrological parks and other types of protected natural areas, arboretums (arboretums), greenhouses, nurseries of scientific and other organizations; seeds and other parts of living plants preserved as genetic material under special conditions; herbariums and collections of various parts of fossil plants. Collections of plant genetic resources include: national collections, which are a collection of valuable and unique samples of plant genetic resources, preserved in accordance with the requirements of international standards; research and selection collections, which contain samples of various genetic material of plants and are formed to solve specific research, general education and breeding problems; temporary research collections, which are formed on the basis of samples obtained from research, selection and other collections to support research and selection programs; core collections, consisting of samples of plant genetic resources, a minimum amount of which contains the main genetic diversity of a plant species; international return collections, which are a collection of samples of the world's plant diversity transferred for safekeeping from international organizations, foreign national collections or gene banks, which are managed on the basis of international agreements. Botanical and plant genetic resource collections are formed by scientific organizations, environmental organizations, having the status of a scientific institution, other legal, as well as physical persons. Botanical collections and collections of plant genetic resources may be in both state and private ownership. The owners register botanical collections and plant genetic resource collections.
