Abstract

The basis for individual marking of an animal belonging to animal species included in the list of animal species subject to individual or group marking and registration, cases of individual or group marking and registration of animals, as well as the timing of animal registration, is its birth or import of an unmarked animal (groups of animals) to the territory of the Russian Federation. The basis for group marking of 2 or more animals of the same species, kept in one object, premises or structure for the same purpose of keeping, is the formation of a group of animals by the owner of the animals. When marking an animal (group of animals), the owner of the animal (group of animals) independently determines the marking means used depending on the type of animal. The marking means used must have the following properties: (a) resistance to external influences, including changes in water temperature in the range from minus 3 ° C to plus 36 ° C for marking means used for marking fish and other aquaculture species of animal origin (hydrobionts), and temperatures in the range from minus 40 °C to plus 45 °C - for other species of animals subject to marking and registration; (b) safety for protecting animal health; (c) visual and (or) electronic readability throughout the entire period of keeping the animal (group of animals); (d) impossibility of reuse, with the exception of the microchip and the display if such use does not lead to distortion of the information printed on it. The unique number of the marking means must be applied by the owner of the animal (group of animals) or another person to the marking means or recorded on the permanent storage device of the marking means, with the exception of individual marking through fabric cuts. It is allowed to apply other information to the marking means, determined by the owner of the animal independently. Re-marking of an animal is carried out by the owner of the animal (group of animals) in the event of loss or damage to the marking means or the expiration of the period of use of the marking means established by the manufacturer of the marking means, in the manner established by these Veterinary Rules.
