This Order enters into force on 1 March 2022.
Abstract

The Veterinary Rules for the appointment and conduct of veterinary and sanitary examination of fish, aquatic invertebrates and fish products therefrom intended for processing and sale establish mandatory requirements for natural persons and legal entities when appointing and conducting veterinary and sanitary examination of fish, aquatic invertebrates and fish products therefrom intended for processing and sale. The following shall be subject to veterinary and sanitary examination prior to release into circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation: (a) live fish and raw fish (fresh), live and fresh aquatic invertebrates, fish products obtained therefrom, including processed at fish processing facilities, receiving and transportation fishing vessels, not processed (unprocessed), intended for processing and ( or) sale, including on the retail market; (b) fish products of non-industrial production that have undergone processing and are placed on the market. Fish, aquatic invertebrates and fish products produced on ships are subject to veterinary and sanitary examination after delivery to the shore before release into circulation. The veterinary and sanitary examination is appointed in order to: (a) establish the conformity of fish, aquatic invertebrates and fish products with safety requirements; (b) establishing the veterinary well-being of holdings (production facilities) of origin of fish, aquatic invertebrates from which fish, aquatic invertebrates and fish products originate, subject to veterinary and sanitary examination; and (c) determining the suitability of fish, aquatic invertebrates and fishery products for alimentary use.
