Abstract This Order establishes the procedure for organization of slaughtering of farm animals intended for subsequent trade. Farm animals prior to slaughtering shall be subject to pre-slaughtering veterinary inspection and post-mortem veterinary and sanitary examination of carcasses and visceral organs. According to the results of post-mortem veterinary inspection carcass shall be stamped with wording "Preliminary inspection". In case of unavailability of slaughterhouse or meat processing enterprises, slaughtering farm animals and performance of veterinary inspection of farm animals and products of slaughtering thereof shall be performed at slaughtering sites (slaughtering sites for farm animals). In the process of slaughtering farm animals at slaughtering sites (slaughtering sites for farm animals) veterinarian shall perform the following operations: (a) checking whether the farm animal has an individual number, veterinary certificate and information on veterinary and preventive measures and diagnostic tests in the identification database for farm animals or an extract from it; and (b) pre-slaughtering veterinary inspection with thermometry of farm animals and post-mortem veterinary inspection of carcasses and visceral organs, marking of carcasses, in accordance with veterinary regulations.
