Abstract

“Uzhansky” national natural park is budgetary, non-profit, nature conservation, recreational, cultural-educational, scientific-research institution and is classified as part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, protected as national property for which a special regime of protection, reproduction and management is established. The park was created for the purpose of conservation, reproduction and rational use of typical and unique natural complexes of the Eastern Carpathians, which have important environmental, scientific, aesthetic, educational, recreational and health value. Management of the park is entrusted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. The main tasks of the park are: (a) preservation and reproduction of valuable natural and historical and cultural complexes and natural objects of the Eastern Carpathians, including maintenance and ensuring ecological natural balance in the region; (b) creation of conditions for organized tourism, recreation and other types of recreational activities in natural conditions with observance of the protection regime of protected natural complexes and objects; (c) organization and implementation of scientific research, including study of natural complexes and their changes under conditions of recreational use, development and implementation of scientific recommendations on protection issues related to natural environment, reproduction of certain types of flora and fauna, restoration of disturbed ecosystems, management and effective use of natural resources, organization and conduct of monitoring of landscape and biological diversity; and (d) ecological educational work. The following is prohibited within the territory of the park: (a) deterioration of the state of preservation of the site "Stuzhitsa - Uzhok" related to the cross-border object of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage "Bukovi primeval forests and ancient forests of the Carpathians and other regions of Europe", the territory of ecological network of Europe "Uzhansky national natural park", as well as the Ukrainian part of the cross-border Ukrainian-Polish-Slovak UNESCO Biosphere Reserve "Eastern Carpathians", which are the habitats (growth) of animal and plant species and natural habitats of species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and international Red Books; (b) in the period of mass reproduction of mass reproduction of wild fauna species, from 1 April to 15 June carrying out works and activities that are a source of increased noise and disturbance (firing, carrying out explosive works, fireworks, sanitary felling of the forest, holding rally and other competitions on vehicles); (c) demolition or otherwise damaging, elimination of natural habitats of wild animals (burrows, lairs, nests, etc.); and (d) implementation of measures to improve sanitary conditions of forests around nesting places of birds of prey listed in the Red Book of Ukraine (within the range of 500 meters), black stork (within the range of 1000 meters), lekking grounds of wood grouses and black grouses (within the range of 300 meters).
