The aim of this Programme is to protect of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources and to avoid the freshwater pollution within the aforementioned zone, delimited by the Bela Mandil brook, railway Olhão-Faro, the Biogal stream, the National Highway 520-3, the highway Estói-Areia-Pechão and the Bela Mandil brook. It establishes maximum quantity of nitrogen or fertilizers (in kg/ha) to be used in agricultural cultivation according to the different plant species.
