Nature reserve shall be located in the Kaluga region and shall be under the direct jurisdiction of the Federal Protection Service of the Russian Federation. It shall perform the following tasks: (a) conservation and reproduction of wild fauna species, including aquatic species and birds, and keeping ecological balance; (b) protection of natural habitats and reproduction grounds of wild fauna species (c) scientific research; and (f) ecological education. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state nature reserve: (a) commercial hunting and stay with firearms; (b) commercial fishing; (c) timber extraction, procurement of soft resin and of non-timber forest products; (d) land reclamation and irrigation; (e) collection of zoological, botanical, mineral species; (f) burning of vegetation; and (g) use of fertilizers and agro-chemicals.
