Abstract

Regulation on sampling methods for determining the maximum permissible levels of dioxins, dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls and non-dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls in certain foodstuffs for the purposes of state control establishes procedures by which samples of certain foodstuffs are taken for laboratory research (testing) in order to determine the content of dioxins, dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls and non-dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls. Sampling methods are mandatory for: (a) state veterinary inspectors of State Consumer Protection Service; (b) accredited laboratories; and (c) market operators. Samples are taken separately from each batch of food products for the purposes of state control. A combined sample is formed by combining three spot samples taken from a batch of thoroughly mixed foodstuffs.
