Abstract

The Order applies to commercial shrimp-fishing in Greenland's fishing territory by individuals and/or companies with Greenlandic vessels of 75 BRT/120 GT or more. At least 60% of its crew must have tax-paying status in Greenland for the past two years, while fishing activities are subject to unlimited licence specifying size and area of quota share. The government sets a total allowable catch on a yearly basis and decides access restrictions in related fishing areas: businesses’ yearly quota is calculated by multiplying its share to Greenland’s total amount and applies to NW, W and Eastern fishing areas.
