Abstract

This Regulation establishes the organization, functioning and tasks of the Committee for Veterinary Medicinal Products subordinated to the Institute for the Control of Biological Products and Veterinary Medicinal Products. The Committee shall have the following responsibilities in the veterinary pharmaceutical field: (a) scientific assistance for the granting of marketing authorizations for products in which the Institute for the Control of Biological Products and Veterinary Medicinal Products could not take a decision; (b) scientific assistance in order to grant derogations regarding the temporary use of immunological veterinary medicinal products without marketing authorization, in case of serious epizootic diseases and in the absence of veterinary medicinal products appropriate to the situation; (c) scientific assistance in order to grant exceptions regarding the validity of the marketing authorization, in exceptional situations regarding public health and animal health; (d) scientific assistance in order to apply the measures prohibiting the manufacture, import, distribution, possession and/or use of immunological veterinary medicinal products on the Romanian territory; and (e) scientific consultancy on any other issue related to the veterinary pharmaceutical field.
