Abstract The present Order, issued by the Ministry of Children and Education, lays down rules on vocational training and education requirements for intestinal cleaners (tarmrenser), which work on cleaning animal intestines, especially those of pigs, to produce sausages. The vocational education of intestinal cleansers shall ensure that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills within the following main areas: 1. Production of intestinal products from raw material to the finished packaging and shipment of the products; 2. Management of product quality in accordance with the businesses' quality objectives; and 3. Collaborative relationships with other professional groups. The education concludes with the specialization as an intestinal cleaner, level 3 in the Danish Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.
