Abstract This Order regulates Decree No. 1.282 of 19 October 1994, concerning the amendments to New Forestry Code (Act No. 4.771). It consists of 50 articles and 9 annexes establishing the requirements to be satisfied for forests' exploitation and management. It defines protected areas, protected trees (in particular of tree species of: Bertholletia excelsa and Hevea spp) forest exploitation requirements (in particular for primordial forests of Amazon river basin, etc.). This Order also specifies other types of exploitation of forests and prescribes, under the competence of Brazilian Institute for Environment - Ibama, controls, fees and sanction for offenders.
