The Regulation consists of 4 Sections dealing with the following matters: 1) general provisions (sect. 1); 2) the purpose of the system of distant monitoring of the fishing vessels (sect. 2); 3) the modalities of carrying out monitoring of the fishing vessels (sect. 3); 4) control over the position of fishing vessel (sect. 4). Distant monitoring of the fishing vessels is the system ensuring collection, processing and storage of the information regarding identification and position of the fishing vessels flying the flag of Ukraine and carrying out marine fisheries in the EEZ and territorial sea of Ukraine, outside the jurisdiction of Ukraine, and of the foreign fishing vessels carrying out fisheries in the EEZ of Ukraine. The Regulation establishes the modalities of interaction of the subjects of the system and the modalities of carrying out distant monitoring of the fishing vessels. The main purposes of the system of distant monitoring of the fishing vessels shall be: 1) prevention of the infringement of the legislation in the sphere of management of living aquatic resources in the EEZ of Ukraine; 2) implementation of the international agreements concluded by Ukraine establishing liability of the state which flag are flying the fishing vessels for the operation thereof outside the national jurisdiction.
