Abstract

The President of the State Committee for Environmental Protection, for the purpose of carrying out its functions as regards maritime zone protection, conservation of marine biodiversity, observance of ecological security in internal sea, territorial sea, continental shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone, in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 643 of 1997 regarding the validation of the Statute of the State Committee for Environmental Protection and Ministerial DecreeNo.718 of 1995 regarding officials and territorial branches of the State Committee for Environmental Protection, orders to validate Model Statute of Specialised Marine Inspection of the State Committee of Ecology. Specialised Marine Inspection (SPEZMORINSPEKZIJA) is a division of the State Committee of Ecology and carries out its functions under general direction and supervision of the State Committee of Ecology. Specialised Marine Inspection exercises, within its competence, control over the observance by the Russian and foreign juridical and physical persons, vessels and other floating objects of the requirements of the Russian Environmental Legislation.
