Abstract This Order prohibits certain fishing gear within estuary areas of the State of São Paulo. It specifies the prohibition of use: motor-powered trawl fishing net, trammel net with minimum mesh not exceedin 70mm, hand cast net (with mesh not exceeding 50mm for fish and 26mm for shrimp fishing), fish spear. Shrimp fishing is allowed with the artisanal gear called "gerival", satisfying the established requirements.
