State nature reserve “Tlyaratinsky” is located in the Tlyaratin district of the Republic of Dagestan covering is located in the Tlyaratin district of the Republic of Dagestan covering area of 83 500 hectares. State nature reserve “Tlyaratinsky” shall carry out the following tasks: (a) conservation and reproduction of wild fauna species and maintenance of ecological balance; (b) conservation of natural habitats and migratory routes of wild fauna species; (c) research; (d) ecological monitoring; and (e) ecological education. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state nature reserve “Tlyaratinsky”: (a) all types of hunting; (b) timber extraction except for collection of fuelwood by the population for personal needs; (c) procurement of non-timber forest products; (d) haymaking and grazing; (e) land reclamation and irrigation; (f) ploughing up; (g) blasting operations; (h) application of pesticides and fertilizers; and (i) introduction of alien species for acclimatization.
