Abstract This Order approves the internal Regulation of the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) under the Ministry of Environment. This Regulation (in the Annex), consists of 9 Chapters and specifies composition, duties and competencies of aforementioned institution, entitled to: implement national policies related to federal environmental legislation, regulate the natural resources exploitation, issue environmental authorizations, carry out controls on environmental quality standards in order to manage and preserve the natural heritage for the sustainable use of natural resources.
