Abstract

This Order regulates catches of aquatic biological resources for the purpose of maintaining traditional ways of life and traditional fishing activities of sparsely distributed indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and Far East of the Russian Federation. Individuals belonging to the sparsely distributed indigenous peoples and communities thereof must use fishing gear and fishing methods that ensure stable reproduction of biological diversity. Traditional fisheries shall operate in areas populated by indigenous peoples and in accordance with special quotas allocated by basin institutions for the purpose of ensuring traditional community management.
