This Order enters into force on 1 September 2022.
Abstract

Slaughter of productive animals and poultry, meat (carcasses), parts of carcasses (half-carcasses and quarters) and products of slaughter (offal, raw fat, blood, bone, intestinal raw materials, collagen-containing raw materials) which are intended for food purposes, is performed in a specially allotted places designated for these purposes: production facilities and other places intended for the slaughter of animals. These Veterinary Rules do not apply to slaughter of animals for the purpose of obtaining slaughter products intended for personal consumption and not intended for release in circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation. Allowed for slaughter are animals that have come from places where animals are kept, where there are no prohibitions on the export of animals in accordance with the veterinary rules for the implementation of preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, restrictive and other measures, the establishment and cancellation of quarantine and other restrictions on the territory of the Russian Federation aimed at preventing spread and elimination of foci of contagious and other animal diseases. Animals sent for slaughter are accompanied by accompanying veterinary documents drawn up in accordance with veterinary rules. It is prohibited to send unidentified animals, sick or suspected of a disease for slaughter for food purposes in accordance with veterinary rules. In places of slaughter of animals, the following slaughter processes are separated: immobilization, bleeding, whitening and skinning (skinning) (for pigs in the skin, scalding or singeing and cleaning the carcasses from the remnants of bristles; for poultry, heat treatment with the removal of plumage), gutting of carcasses.
