Abstract

This Order lays down provisions on food of agricultural origin (defined in section 2) destined to be marketed with reference to organic production. The Order applies mainly to food of animal origin or with ingredients of animal origin but certain provisions apply also to food of vegetable origin. The Order also applies to animals, which are delivered for slaughter. "Reference to organic production here means the suggestion that the food is produced in accordance with provisions of the Organic Food Act of 1999. Definitions (sect. 2); Labelling and advertising of organic animal foods (sects. 3-8); Notification and inspection of vegetable and animal organic foods (sects. 9-13); Imports from EU member States and third countries (sects. 13-15); Inspection authorities (sects. 16-20); Penalty provisions (sect. 21); Provisions on the entry into force and transitional provisions (sect. 22).
